The big orc you’re most likely thinking of is Lurtz. He was played by actor Lawrence Makoare in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
Lurtz is the muscular, arrow-throwing Uruk-hai leader who confronts the Fellowship of the Ring early on in the first movie, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Lawrence Makoare is a New Zealand actor known for his roles in fantasy and action films. Interestingly, he played other characters in the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well, including the Witch-king of Angmar and Gothmog.
