The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, is guarded by the Tomb Guard sentinels. These sentinels are specially selected members of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, also known as “The Old Guard.” The Old Guard is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the U.S. Army. The sentinels maintain a continuous vigil at the Tomb, regardless of weather conditions, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
